Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years
  • Age as on: January 1, 2025
  • Age Relaxation: No age relaxation is provided for any category, as per the recruitment rules.

2. Educational Qualifications

The educational qualification requirements vary according to the level of the post:

  • Level 5/4: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Level 3/2: Passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board/university.
  • Level 1: Passed 10th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution.

Note: Candidates awaiting results or appearing in the final examination are not eligible to apply.


3. Sports Achievements

The recruitment criteria require specific sports achievements based on the level of the post:

  • For Level 5/4 (Grade Pay 2800/2400):
    • Represented the country in Olympic Games (Senior Category); or
    • Secured at least 3rd position in any of the following:
      • World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior Category)
      • World Championships (Junior/Senior Category)
      • Asian Games (Senior Category)
      • Commonwealth Games (Senior Category)
      • Youth Olympics
      • Champions Trophy (Hockey)
  • For Level 3/2 (Grade Pay 2000/1900):
    • Represented the country in any of the championships mentioned above; or
    • Secured at least 3rd position in any of the following:
      • Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior Category)
      • Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category)
      • South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior Category)
      • USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior Category)
      • World University Games
    • National Championships: Secured at least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships or National Games organized under the Indian Olympic Association.
    • Inter-University: Secured at least 1st position in the All India Inter University Championship.
    • Federation Cup: Secured 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
  • For Level 1 (Grade Pay 1800):
    • Represented in Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships, Asia Cup, SAF Games, USIC Championships, or World University Games; or
    • Secured 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category); or
    • Represented a State or Equivalent unit with at least an 8th position in Senior National Championships.

Additional Note: Higher sports achievements are also considered for the lower levels, provided candidates will not claim for a higher level based on pre-existing achievements.


4. Other Eligibility Conditions

  • Active Player Requirement: Candidates must be active sportspersons as of the date of issue of the notification. Achievements after April 1, 2022, will be considered for eligibility.
  • Document Verification: Candidates must produce original documents during verification for educational qualifications, sports achievements, and other eligibility proofs.

Key Points for Specific Sports

Certain sports have additional norms:

  • Table Tennis: Candidates must be ranked within the top 30 (singles) or top 6 (doubles) in the current annual All India Rankings.
  • Chess: International Master (IM) or Grand Master (GM) titles are required for higher levels, and a FIDE rating of 2300 or above for Level 1.
  • Cricket: Representation in national or international levels such as India-A team, U-19, or above is required.

Recruitment and Selection Process

1. Recruitment Process

The recruitment process is designed to evaluate the candidate’s sports achievements, performance in trials, and educational qualifications.
